Save Parking on North S. 25th Street

Keep Our Street Accessible, Safe, and Usable

A proposal is being discussed that would remove parking on the north side of S. 25th Street and further restrict parking near intersections. For many people in our neighborhood, this is not a small inconvenience. It affects daily life, access to homes, small businesses, deliveries, caregivers, seniors, families with children, and people with mobility challenges.

We believe any change like this should fully consider the real-life impact on the people who live, work, visit, and park here every day.

Why This Matters

Parking on S. 25th Street is part of how our neighborhood functions. Removing it could:

  • Make it harder for residents to park near their homes
  • Reduce access for elderly neighbors, disabled residents, and caregivers
  • Create challenges for families unloading groceries, children, and household supplies
  • Hurt nearby businesses that depend on convenient customer parking
  • Push more cars onto already crowded side streets
  • Make deliveries, service calls, and visitor access more difficult

Restricting parking near intersections may sound minor on paper, but when combined with the loss of existing street parking, the result could be a major reduction in usable spaces.

We Need Your Story

Decision-makers need to hear from the people who will actually be affected.

We are asking residents, business owners, employees, customers, property owners, church members, delivery drivers, caregivers, and visitors to share their stories. Personal experiences matter. The more specific and honest your story is, the stronger our community voice will be.

Tell us:

  • How often you park on S. 25th Street
  • Why nearby parking matters to you
  • How losing parking would affect your household, work, business, health, or daily routine
  • Whether you care for children, seniors, or someone with limited mobility
  • Whether parking restrictions would create safety, access, or financial problems
